Taking Advantage of Our Cost Saving’s Approach

In most instances many of us look at hunting as a pastime that should not be expensive or overly cumbersome as it relates to our pocketbook. In the Northeast, it is plausible to access public grounds and have an enjoyable hunting experience. What does not happen on most public grounds are improvements done by State or Federal Agencies to specifically impact local species in a manner that will drastically improve conditions for hunting or otherwise. This trend tends to be a factor that disincentives hunters in our area from approaching public grounds with optimism. Of course, that is not to say some areas of public grounds have well laid out improvements, but in most instances, changes made on these grounds are short-lived and not managed continuously. The result is degrading habitat that succeeds into a succession of older age forest, which is unproductive for hunting in most instances.

What does this all mean? For landowners you have a different discernment, providing an opportunity that corrects the missteps that are not achieved on public ground. With certain tactics used on woodlands, shrublands and field
settings changes can be achieved in a short time period – resulting in optimal conditions for desired species. These changes are typically without boundaries, providing an unlimited menu off options and considerations a landowner or lessee can implement continuously.

How does this all relate to money. Most consultants will begin to sell ideas that focus on intense equipment needs or extremely large food plots. None of those are essential, in fact you can add food plots with less than $100 worth
of equipment and seed (size dependent). Equipment wise you may spend some money to reach certain objectives, but you can also rent equipment for much less than buying. Our general philosophy is to simplify the objectives and focus on the weak spots in the habitat and revise the areas of that landscape that create limitations. Doing this with hand
tools (i.e. chainsaws) takes time and hiring others has a financial impact. The prices we charge are far less than others, and the most recent comparative review reveals our offerings are 30-50% lower than our competitors. Paying less doesn’t mean you get less, it just means that we are priced more aggressively because we understand that hunting is a pastime and that it should not take big dollars to achieve goals and objectives for those that want great things from their
landscapes.
